My journey into land use planning began with a strong interest in community development. Over time, I've worked in various roles that have shaped my expertise in planning, historic preservation, and economic development.

 

I started in real estate as an agent, learning the importance of understanding both the market and the people who drive it. This foundation helped as I transitioned into project management, where I honed my skills in coordinating large projects and ensuring efficiency.

 

Next, I moved into planning at Cogan Owens Greene, where I contributed to the Cascadia Subduction Zone Tsunami Land Use Guide for Oregon Coastal Communities, fueling my passion for public planning and long-term strategy.

 

I further developed my skills as Planning Services Manager for the City of Sweet Home, leading projects like the Livability Assessment and Economic Opportunities Analysis, which focused on enhancing the local economy and quality of life. I also helped design concept plans for local parks.

 

As an Associate Planner at the Mid-Willamette Council of Governments, I deepened my regional planning experience, collaborating with multiple municipalities on shared goals.

 

In my role as Planner III / Historic Preservation Planner for the City of Albany, I managed the Certified Local Government Program and Historic Rehabilitation Grant Program, blending preservation with growth.

Most recently, as a Private Sector Land Use Consultant at Udell Engineering & Land Surveying, I provided planning services to public clients across Oregon, helping communities plan for sustainable growth and navigate development processes.

 

In summary, my extensive experience in both private and public sector planning in Oregon has equipped me to navigate the complexities of land development, ensure compliance with zoning regulations, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. I have worked across various roles to help municipalities and private clients create well-planned development projects.
